All taxes together comes to much less than that. A service station that sells you the gas is lucky to make 6 or 7 Cents a gallon. Nothing comes even close to crude production.

At about 40 gallons of gasoline from a barrel of crude, with crude about $70 per barrel, it's contribution to a gallon of gazs is about $1.75. That's bigger than any other contribution to the cost.
